Job Description


We are looking for an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home Manager to manage our Solo Placement in West Yorkshire. Kindly provide the following on your CV making sure that you account for any gaps if or where there is any

    ⁃    Personal details and qualifications
    ⁃    Relevant experience, knowledge of regulations, staff management capabilities, safeguarding procedures, quality assurance practices, risk assessment skills, communication abilities, leadership qualities
    ⁃    A clear understanding of the service provided, and the ability to maintain compliance with Ofsted standards
    ⁃    Ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared for the running of the home including regular reviews of Policies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    

      Safeguarding:
    •    Robust safeguarding policies and procedures 

    •    Child protection procedures 

    •    Whistle-blowing procedures 


     Quality Assurance:
    •    Quality monitoring and evaluation processes 

    •    Incident reporting and investigation procedures 

    •    Continuous improvement strategies 


       Risk Assessment:
    •    Identifying potential risks within the service 

    •    Implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies 

    •    Communication Skills:
    •    Effective communication with children, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies 

    •    Clear and concise documentation practices 

       Leadership Qualities:
    •    Ability to motivate and inspire staff 

    •    Decision-making skills 

    •    Ability to build positive relationships 

      Service Understanding:
    •    Comprehensive understanding of the service provided (e.g., residential care, supported living) 

    •    Ability to tailor services to meet individual needs

Job Requirement

•    Qualifications:
    •    Relevant childcare or social care qualifications (Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management preferred) 

    •    First aid certification 

    •    Any specific training required for the service type (e.g., medication administration) 


      Work Experience:
    •    Previous experience managing childcare or social care settings 

    •    Demonstrated leadership skills 


        Knowledge of Regulations:
    •    Understanding of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 

    •    Familiarity with Ofsted inspection framework 

    •    Awareness of safeguarding procedures 


        Staff Management:
    •    Recruitment and selection procedures 

    •    Staff training and development plans 

    •    Performance management system 

    •    Staff supervision and support mechanisms
